TGO Challenge
The TGO Challenge is an annual self-supported walking event across the Highlands of Scotland, west coast to east coast. It started in 1980 and was the brainchild of the well-known writer and mountaineer, Hamish Brown. The Challenge is held every May and is sponsored by TGO, the walkers' magazine, in partnership with Rab, the outdoor equipment specialist, and the adventure trekking company Mountain Kingdoms.
TGO Magazine
tgo magazine, formerly The Great Outdoors, has been described by one of Britain's best known mountaineers as 'the thinking persons' outdoors magazine.' For over 25 years tgo has been recognised as Britain's most authoritative outdoors magazine for hill-walkers, backpackers, trekkers and scramblers, informing and entertaining its readers with a variety of features from home and abroad. Our news pages offer the most up to date and informed news coverage of the outdoor world and we are never slow to campaign for walkers' rights. All tgo's writers are actively involved in the outdoors and are all widely respected authors and journalists.

Triathlon
The Grantown Try-Tri is an opportunity to try out this sport in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Located in the Cairngorms National Park, the Grantown Try-Tri allows individuals and teams of all ages and fitness to participate in the sport. Combined with the Motor Mania Day and Cairngorms Farmers’ Market, it is a great day out for friends and family too. The distances are not too far – a pool swim of 300m, bike ride (road bike or mountain bike) of 14km (this is a bit hilly) and a flat run through the town and woods of just 4.5 km.
This year the Try Tri is particularly keen to hear from community and business groups who wish to enter as a team. So if you feel that the race is too much for just one person – enter as a team of 3 with one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner. Most of all, participants should enter to have fun!
This year the committee have produced a website with the assistance of local funding so to find out more information as well as enter online see www.try-tri.co.uk or call 01479 872061.
